The Gopher prospect is 26.4 kilometres southeast of the town of Dease Lake, B.C. (bearing 123) and 15.7 kilometres due east of Highway 37. The location is defined by the drillhole collar of DDH TZ15-02, which tests a peripheral zone of structurally controlled advanced argillic alteration.

The Gopher Zone consists of a ridgeline with interspersed outcrops of a bladed feldspar porphyry and strongly sheared and altered schists that contain clays and other minerals (pyrophyllite, dickite, topaz, and dumortierite) typical of hot-spots and root zones within/beneath lithocaps. On the top of the ridge the strongly altered rocks are juxtaposed across a steeply dipping fault from unaltered plagioclase+pyroxene/hornblende porphyritic intrusive rocks. Gopher is part of the "Tanzilla Gossan", which includes quartz, sericite, clay and/or pyrite alteration, extending along strike for over five kilometres. The gossan includes the main Silica Ridge, the West gossan and the Gopher zone.
